Alejandra Silvia Benaglia

Mis maestros: Armando Donnini, Carlos Fels, Estímulo, Gabriel Mirocznyk, Viviana Kasses y Nancy Torre.

As usual, everything begins in childhood. Crayons, coloured pencils, watercolor paintings, brushes and buckets of water.

- “May I paint the garden with water?”
- “Yes”, replied my aunts.

And then, there I was, ready to draw with water on those white walls which, as they remained wet, gave back to me magical landscapes that later faded away until getting dried, leaving the walls clean again, ready for a new journey. There was a time when I was fascinated by lighthouses… then, the little houses, and later, just mum and dad, each in their own way… and me, in the middle of them, stretching my arms to reach them. Those were the gifts from me to many of the adults that surrounded me: drawings. Later, there were teachers, art schools and ateliers, where the fascinating artistic atmosphere wrapped me. Paints, charcoals, pastels, oil paintings, patterns, still life… everything got printed by the early imprint and my teenagehood, stimulated by this great artist called Armando Donnini. His early passing away plunged myself into a non pictorial stage of my life.

- “Armando would have loved you to move on”- told me his wife, Martha.

I couldn’t… and it so happened for almost 15 years.
But, luckily, and encouraged by my family, new courses came out in my life and re awakened the flame. Up to the present day, nothing will make me give up what I love the most in my life.

My teachers: Armando Donnini, Carlos Fels, Estímulo, Gabriel Mirocznyk, Viviana Kasses and Nancy Torre. My people: Osvaldo, Rocío, Julián, Paloma and my mother, whom I made my first picture.

TO ALL OF YOU, THANK YOU!
